Congratulating On Marriages

The Queen of Hell Othenin-Dominique Girard (USA - 1990)

Surely some of you the name Lilith will not say anything. Briefly: that evil is a goddess in Mesopotamian religion is associated with the storm. According to some sources (from which the film draws pretext to revive the charm of the character) was the first woman to Adam, it is said that after he left the Garden of Eden. Symbolizing lust, sin and death steriminatrice. If you want to call it in the manner of one of the film's characters: the whore of the devil.

Small preamble only because the film in question is one of the few dedicated to this dark character. As well as the equally nebulous, it seems being the distribution in Italy of this Night Angel , limited to several copies in VHS and with the title (as amended but unusually guessed) ' The Queen of Hell' .

Night Angel is the son of the first year of the decade, perhaps the blackest of horror films (or at least, the most lifeless). Those "ninety" which seemed to have calmed some desire to take risks, a desire for exaggeration and for the experts is a prerogative that should never fail. Do not miss the beautiful exceptions. Among others, authors such as John Carpenter or Brian Yuzna with gems like that In the Mouth Of Madness ( the Mouth of Madness) and The Return of the Living Dead III claimed gender and avoided a final tumble.

Night Angel, to the substance of things, symbolizes a little good morning that we perceive in the morning and do not bode well.

The plot sees the demon Lilith to party with the governing bodies (male) drawing of a fashion magazine to get a first page and become the new female image of the complex. To do with luring sensual destination for their increasingly brutal.

Recalling that we are anything but memorable un'operina before we can say that the only element that attracted my attention was the perceived ability / skill of the director in being able to create a dark fairly effective. Someone, arming prior written down, probably will define the faux outrageous, but it will hit the pivot of the question that is stored elsewhere. According to the first part you can feel the atmosphere suitable to reconstruct the part of an office of a hypothetical fashion lustful Dante's circle, aesthetically the overlapping of alternating good "femme fatale / Lady Death" regularly engaged in by Lilith (Isa Jank a beautiful and breathtaking), its dual game seduction / death which can involve. Also an important part of the legendary Karen Black ( Trilogy of Terror ) plunges us into an air far more familiar and less alien. But the film stumbles in the long run, svaccando altogether when playing the card game of the bad guy, becoming repetitive and confusing. So that, if what we saw earlier could be nice, hence the time spent making the remaining minutes more and more unnerving. Dwelling on obscure points of the script not resolve and would fill too many defects in the film. There are many explanations are missing, especially on the character of Lilith same number of points that they deserved to be better focused and instead are left to die. But in spite of a final so walking is a good first half hour that is well worth a viewing.

For those who do not want to miss any seed planted by the horror genre in recent years.
